We designed this crucible to be the optimum size for printing with the Model C. Hand-thrown from clay, the crucible consists of two parts:
The base. The base is placed under the printer during printing, and holds the deposited sand and metal powder.
The lid. The lid is placed over the base during baking. It contains space for the melt pot with infill metal, coke, and extra sand.
The combined base and lid easily fits into most kilns. The two pieces are carefully hand ground to ensure a highly air tight seal, and includes indicator marks for proper alignment.
